The new three-step system offers a complete range of options for cymbal care, to be used and combined as needed: Maintainer for frequent use on minor blemishes, Cleaner for occasional use on tougher stains and Protector to supplement factory applied protective coating and to guard against discoloration from oxidization.
The recyclable aluminum containers feature a generous 300 ml capacity and a user-friendly pump spray mechanism. All three products were created with user safety and the environment in mind. They do not contain greenhouse gases or chemicals causing cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm as identified by European Union REACH and California Proposition 65 regulations. The containers are not pressurized and do not contain any flammable ingredients.
To provide drummers with a wide range of sounds—including some special, unique tones—for a variety of musical styles and applications, we use different finishes, which can be categorized as follows:
(1) Anti-Oxidant Coating – We apply a protective finish to most of our cymbals to prevent oxidation. Cymbals with Anti Oxidant Coating are compatible with all Paiste Cymbal Care products.
(2) Non-Anti-Oxidant Coating CuSn20 Series – Most models in the Masters Series do not feature a protective coating. Because Cymbal Maintainer is minimally effective on such models the use of Cymbal Cleaner is preferred. Cymbal Protector is useful to delay the development of patina.
(3) Unlathed and partly unlathed surfaces with Anti-Oxidant Coating – Regardless of whether such cymbals have been treated with our Anti-Oxidant Coating or not, the use of Cymbal Cleaner can cause discoloration on unlathed or partly lathed surfaces.
(4) Unlathed and partly unlathed surfaces without Anti-Oxidant Coating – No care products should be used on certain cymbals in the Masters series.
(5) Color Sound – Only Cymbal Maintainer and Cymbal Protector should be used on Color Sound coated cymbals. The use of Cymbal Cleaner can cause discoloration.
(6) Reflector – Only Cymbal Maintainer and Cymbal Protector should be used on cymbals with a high-gloss Reflector finish. The use of Cymbal Cleaner can cause discoloration.
(7) Special finishes – This category includes various surface treatments that not only influence the specific sound of a series or model, but also give it a distinctive look. Only Cymbal Maintainer and Cymbal Protector should be used on cymbals of such series. The use of Cymbal Cleaner can cause discoloration.
