Biography

From an early age Vini Baschera was captivated by music. Son of a musician father, he always had the incentive to study and practice the instrument. The first contact with music was with the guitar - his first musical instrument - then he learned accordion and piano. He always played the drums, and when he decided to go to college, he chose symphonic percussion, where he studied snare drum, marimba, vibraphone, timpani and multiple percussion. Bachelor of Classical Percussion from the University of Passo Fundo / RS, held his graduation concert in 2009 and in 2011 his research work on how the drums entered the regional music of Rio Grande do Sul. During his training he held several percussion recitals with works of great names in world percussion, such as: Keiko Abe, Nebozja Zivkovic, Ney Rosauro, Dave Samuels, Emmanuel Sejourné, Eliot Carter, Sigfried Fink, among others. In 2014 he moved to Portugal to advance his studies in the academic area and in 2016 he completed his master's degree in Artistic / Jazz Interpretation, under the guidance of the American professor Michael Lauren. During this specialization period at ESMAE (Escola Superior de Artes Música e Espetáculo), in the city of Porto / Portugal, he participated in several concerts as a drummer for Big Band Esmae and was called to represent schools in the north of the country in the Jazz Stories cycle in Portugal in the city of Guimarães / PT, concluded his studies with an average of 18 values, researched and wrote his thesis on the technique "Action and Reaction" - conceived by the Brazilian drummer Kiko Freitas. Since 2017, is sideman from the Portuguese artist David Carreira, having played shows frequently in Portuguese territory, as well as other countries in Europe and the Schengen space, he is the drummer of the quartet of guitarist Augusto Baschera and the quintet of saxophonist Tomás Marques. Drums private teacher in his home studio and also at the Telheiras Music Academy, Toca das Artes and Amartes. Played with great names in the mainstream Portuguese and African scene like, Ana Moura, Calema, Diogo Piçarra, Nuno Ribeiro, Mickael, Tony Carreira, Fernando Daniel, Anselmo Ralph and Pérola.
