Tris Imboden is recognized around the world as a multiple gold and platinum record award and Grammy Award winning drummer. He is best known perhaps as being the drummer for the band Chicago for quite nearly 30 years although his career reaches far beyond that. He was the drummer on almost all of the Kenny Loggins hit records which include such hits as “Whenever I Call You Friend”, “I’m Alright” from the movie “Caddyshack”, the Grammy Award winning “This Is It”, “Heart To Heart”, The Grammy Award winning “Footloose” from the movie of the same name, “Forever”, and “Conviction Of The Heart” named by Al Gore as the unofficial theme song of the environmental movement. He has also played on hit records by Gary Wright, Firefall, Chicago, Richard Marx, Neil Diamond, Steve Vai, David Foster, Howard Hewitt, Julio Iglesias and Stevie Wonder to name a few. In a career that has spanned nearly five decades he has also recorded and/or performed live with Michael McDonald, Chaka Kahn, Al Jarreau, Jay Ferguson, America, The Doobie Brothers, Donald Fagen, Bill Champlin, Earth Wind and Fire, Anita Baker, REO Speedwagon, Crosby Stills and Nash, Brian Wilson, Michael Jackson, Johnny Clegg and Savuka, Peter Cetera, Roger Daltrey, Don Felder, Fee Waybill, Stevie Nicks, Phil Everly, Cock Robin, Jay Graydon, Steve Perry, Cecilio and Kapono, Kalapana, Honk, and many more. He has also performed and recorded with many more in the jazz world including Stanley Clarke, David Sanborn, Bob James, Tom Scott, Michael Brecker, Michael Paulo, Jeff Berlin, Herbie Mann, George Duke, Bill Watrous, Los Lobotomys, and Clare Fisher. Imboden has countless appearances on television shows including; performing with Chicago at their Induction Ceremony to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He also performed multiple times for the Grammy Awards. Having had the good fortune to have seen the world many times over through playing music he feels he has been blessed and is truly grateful.
