Biography

Born in Athens, Greece on February 14, 1964. Moved to US in 1966 and started playing drums at age 6, playing along to R&B, pop, funk and Greek records. First “pro” gigs acquired playing in Ethnic night clubs at age 10. Club gigs soon followed performing in various country, rock and pop groups, as well as joining an original band that owned their own state of the art recording studio. Education: By age 19, living in LA to study formally with Joe Porcaro and Ralph Humphrey. Was offered and subsequently accepted a part time teaching gig at Musicians Institute (MI) in LA from 1987-1995, while also starting a recording and touring career that’s still going strong today. Controllable, peppery stick sound over a dark layered oriental, smoky wash. A ride cymbal that can easily be used in a small jazz club setting and flourish in other styles such as blues or country music.
