Biography
Topher Stott is a drummer and music director based out of Toronto, Canada. His band, The GoodBones is a purpose-built backup band that has backed up more than 150 in the past 7 years on Tv and live stages including 5 nationally broadcast after parties for the Canadian Juno Awards. The band has been pegged as “Canada’s Back up band by the CBC. Highlights of the artists the Topher has backed up include Big Boi, Indigo Girls, Jim Cuddy, En Vogue, Alice Cooper, Alan Doyle. Steve Cropper, Lion Babe, Dj Logic, Gowan, Clay Cook, Ria Mae, Kristian Bush, Arrested Development, Stephen Page, Jarvis Church, Swollen Members, Haviah Mighty, Gowan, Classic Albums Live, Earl Slick, Omar Lye-Fook, Reeves Gabrels, Richie Sambora, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Northern Touch All-Stars, Fastball, The Weather Station, Joey Shithead (DOA), Cadence Weapon and more. Topher prides himself on the care that they band takes to put artists at ease. “Our first job is to take good care of the artists and the music, and have a great time doing it. Topher studied performance at York University where he earned a Bachelor Of Fine Arts (Honours) and was later asked to be an adjunct professor of Contemporary Improvisation there.

Strong, articulate embedded bell. An ultimate classic sound, developed in 1967 during one of popular music's most revolutionary eras.

Sound character: A fusion of darkness, energy, projection and brilliance. Very wide range, complex, musical mix. Responsive feel, extremely controllable. Woody, silvery, spanky ping over crunchy, thriving wash. Extremely versatile, flexible ride for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Mark II: Tends to be a bit livelier and brighter. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound. Mark II also has a bit more volume potential due to its more open character.

Developed in co-operation with the legendary "Van Halen" drummer Alex Van Halen.
