Biography
Tim Oxford is a Canadian musician, best known as the drummer and percussionist for the 9X JUNO Award winning band, Arkells. As a founding member of the group, Tim has toured the globe professionally for nearly 20 years, and co-written some of Canada’s most beloved alt-rock hits. Alongside Arkells, Tim has contributed to over ten #1 hits, and a string of platinum and gold selling albums. As one of the most heavily rotated acts on radio, and all-time record holders of the JUNO Award for “Group of the Year,” Tim Oxford and Arkells have extended their reach beyond borders by infiltrating all corners of pop culture; from global sports telecasts and top-tier video games to the stages of Coachella and Bonnaroo. Before the mainstream success of Arkells, Tim studied Audio Production and Engineering at Metalworks Institute, where he graduated in 2005. In addition to his work as a performer, he has been recognized for his music production and recording skillsets. Known for his undeniable presence within the band, Tim Oxford is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished drummers in the country. His powerful, groove-oriented drumming style is signature to Arkells’ music and performance, contributing to the group’s reputation as one of Canada’s premier live acts.
