Biography
Tacho Vazquez was born in the San Fernando Valley into a musical family. At the age of 3 Tacho began accompanying his father to rehearsals for the Grammy nominated band "Los Diablos" where dad played the electric bass. At the age of 6 his parents gave him his first drum set and having a natural love for music he decided to follow that tradition and become a musician himself. By age 15 he was accepted into the prestigious "Los Angeles County High School for the Arts" to what Tacho calls "the best thing that's ever happened to him." As a high school graduation present his parents bought him his very first real cymbals - 2 Paiste Signature crashes! Tacho has recorded on many albums and toured with several groups, such as Quetzal, Mesma Lua, Tribe of Gypsies (including opening for Santana on his Supernatural tour), Viento Callejero, and Twanguero, among many others. Today his band “EL CONJUNTO NUEVA OLA,” better known as “ECNO,” bring their unique flavor of cumbia to world with their motto "CUMBIALIZANDO LO MODERNO Y MODERNIZANDO LA CUMBIA!" With ECNO, Tacho has appeared many times on television programs such as "Acceso Total" for Telemundo and Univision and made a memorable red carpet entrance arriving at the Latin Billboard Awards on the back of half a dozen harleys. Without a doubt there's many more stories to tell and much more music to make for Tacho and his band. Check out ECNO's recently released album "El Disco Blanco," available on all digital platforms.
