Paiste Artist Since
„There has always been a typical PAISTE sound in my head, as I grew up listening to 80's pop-rock records. I also have a classical music background because of my Mom, who is a classical percussionist. These early imprints nourished my inspiration for the sound of Paiste. For me this is the way the cymbal should sound.“

Sound character: Dark, warm, smoky. Medium wide range, complex mix. Buttery, soft feel with quick response. Rich, dark, mystical crash sound with tender clarity. Extremely lively cymbal for broad accents and crashes in intimate to semi-loud settings. Well suited for delicate ride patterns or mallet swells. «For those guys who really appreciate just having a cymbal that can do everything, the larger Dark Crashes can do anything. Very crash-able, and if you want to ride on them, they will give you all the ride patterns in the world.» - Gregory Hutchinson
Sound character: Bright, crisp, sharp. Wide range, clean mix. Very responsive feel. Crisp stick sound, energetic open sound. Bright, defined chick. Cutting hi-hats for precise playing in wide-ranging styles. While Color Sound 900 feature essentially the same sound and function as the 900 Series, the color coating causes a slightly drier sound, shortens the sustain a bit, and results in a more focused attack.
