Biography

Stixx Mitchell is a professional musician from the beautiful island of St. Lucia in the Eastern Caribbean. His gift of drumming has taken him across the globe, touching every continent in the world by the age of 25. Through hard work and perseverance Stixx has some history making achievements and is still focused with plans on continuing his rise. Stixx is the very first Drummer out of St. Lucia and the entire Eastern Caribbean to be affiliated with the Marley Family. He has officially toured internationally as the drummer for the late JoMersa Marley and Skip Marley, both grandsons of the late reggae legend Bob Marley; also Stixx has toured with Grammy Award Winning Artist Jemere Morgan, the eldest son of Gramps Morgan of the Grammy Award Winning Group Morgan Heritage, the Legendary “Junior Marvin” Lead Guitarist for “Bob Marley & The Wailers” and “Collie Buddz” multiple times. Early in 2023 he acquired his latest appointment as the Drummer with International Smooth Jazz guitarist “Ronald Boo Hinkson” of Zephryn Records, “Hinkson” was the person responsible for introducing Stixx to music back in 1996. They performed at the 2023 St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, The Ultimate Celebration Show Day, making their appearance Coheadlining with acts Sting & Shaggy on the Main Stage performance day.

    Sound character: Brilliant, sharp, powerful. Wide range, clean mix. Heavy feel. Bright, pronounced ping over a controlled, warm wash. Massive bell. Powerful, cutting ride for loud playing. While Color Sound 900 feature essentially the same sound and function as the 900 Series, the color coating causes a slightly drier sound, shortens the sustain a bit, and results in a more focused attack.
