Biography
Stephanie Snyder is drummer and co-founding member of sister rock duo Deer Park Avenue, signed to Muve Recordings in Switzerland. She was trained in classical piano and ballet before getting a drum set so she could play drums like Ringo Starr. She is inspired by heroes Gregg Bissonette (who gave Stephanie her first lesson), Stewart Copeland, Daru Jones, and Jeff Porcaro. Stephanie and Sarah grew up playing music at their dad’s church on Long Island before moving to Switzerland, graduating in journalism, and starting a rock band. Deer Park Avenue have toured in the US and Europe, playing at clubs and festivals including the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, the Tollwood Festival in Munich, Germany, the Distancing Festival in Switzerland, and have supported acts Palaye Royale, Bebe Rexha, Stefanie Heinzmann, Stress, 77 Bombay Street, and many more. Their self-titled debut EP was produced by Matt Bissonette (Brian Wilson, Elton John) and their latest release Conscious Mess (Muve Recordings) is a hard-hitting mess of rock ‘n’ roll produced with Reto Peter (Modest Mouse, Green Day) and released on Lockdown Day 2020. Deer Park Avenue are passionate about music education and the power of music to bring people together. They head up a music program for youth called Jam Session that focuses on building community and confidence through jamming and live performance.
