„An instrument sounds great to me, when it gives me exactly the sound that I hear in my head before actually striking it. But my Paiste cymbals sound even surprisingly better than anything I could imagine and make me smile and happy with every single note that I play.“

Biography
Simon Springer grew up in Innsbruck, Austria, and started playing the drums around the age of three. He soon began his classical training at the local music school and went on to study jazz and popular music at the Tyrolean State Conservatory. In 2012 he moved to Vienna and did his bachelor's and master's degree in Jazz drums at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. Over the past ten years Simon developed into an experienced, popular and fine player throughout many different genres of music, working with both national and international artists. He is mainly known for his work in jazz, fusion and contemporary music (Gene Pritsker, Rens Newland, Franz Hackl, Jakob Zimmermann Trio, Tiktaalik etc.), his work in the Austrian pop music scene (Christian Kolonovits, Wolfgang Ambros, Schiffkowitz, Franz Morak, Die Wödmasta, KØLEEN etc.) and his work in the musical theatre business (Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, Volksoper Wien, Volkstheater Wien, Theater in der Josefstadt, Seefestspiele Mörbisch, Maya Hakvoort Band etc.). Besides playing many concerts per year Simon has done lots of studio work and teaches privately and as a workshop clinician. He has won several prices, performed at a variety of international music festivals and toured the globe in four continents.
