Biography

Sergio "La Chancha" Masciotra is a member of the band La Carga, which has shared the stage with artists such as Charly Garcia, Joaquin Sabina, Leo Sayer, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Creedence, Bryan Adams, Jethro Tull, Yes, Carl Palmer, Alice Cooper, Zucchero, Roger Hodgson, Earth Wind and Fire, and many others. Sergio just released his third instructional book "43 Yeites Explosivos 2" in South America which he is currently promoting. He also has two previously-published instructional books: "41 Yeites Explosivos" and "83 Rítmos Poderosos." More than 700 students, the vast majority of whom work professionally, have studied with Sergio. He has conducted drum clinics in Argentina and throughout Latin America with renowned drummers like Gustavo Rowek, Jorge Araujo, Sebastian Peycere, Fernando Scarcella, Carl Palmer, Ian Paice, and many more. He endorses Paiste cymbals, Gretsch drums, Basix hardware, Dt Music sticks / Sergio Masciotra Signature Series, Aquarian drumheads. He is a columnist for the website "El Club de Bateristas” and for the magazine "Bateristas al Sur" and "Recorplay."
