Biography

Ryan Thackwray is the powerhouse drummer for British heavy rock band ASOMVEL, known for his thunderous playing style and commanding stage presence. A native of Yorkshire, Ryan developed his drumming roots in the heart of the UK’s rock scene, drawing influence from classic metal legends and modern rhythmic innovators alike. Ryan proudly plays Paiste cymbals, relying on their rich tonal clarity and explosive dynamics to cut through the band’s raw, aggressive sound. Whether on stage or in the studio, his setup typically includes a combination of Paiste Rude Crashes, RUDE Hi-Hats, and a Rude ‘Eclipse’ Ride, giving him the power and versatility needed to drive the bands relentless groove. With a passion for live performance and a deep respect for the history of rock/metal drumming, Ryan continues to forge his own path as a dedicated artist, delivering every hit with intensity and purpose.
