Biography
I am Róbert Nagy from Hungary. I started playing drums at the age of 3-4, and often joined jam sessions in my father’s band. Coming from a family of musicians, I was practically born into music. Although I studied piano for a few years, drums have always been my true passion, and I received my first drum set at the age of 8-9. Since then, I have had the opportunity to perform with many Hungarian and international musicians in a wide variety of styles. Currently, I play in seven bands, covering Pop/Rock, Fusion, Jazz, Gospel and Hip Hop. My favorite styles are Fusion, Jazz, Jazz/Rock, Latin and Hip Hop. The band closest to my heart is the Pluto Fusion Band, where I have the honor to play alongside outstanding musicians such as world-class bassist and founder Horváth “Plutó” József, the internationally acclaimed pianist Róbert Szakcsi Lakatos, and the phenomenal guitarist Mike Gotthard, with whom every concert creates an explosion of energy on stage.

Sound character: A fusion of darkness, energy, projection and brilliance. Very wide range, complex, musical mix. Responsive feel, extremely controllable. Woody, silvery, spanky ping over crunchy, thriving wash. Extremely versatile, flexible ride for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Mark II: Tends to be a bit livelier and brighter. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound. Mark II also has a bit more volume potential due to its more open character.

Sound character: Full, rich, energetic with a definite dark side. Crunchy, with a meaty bite. Very wide range, very complex mix. Extremely balanced, very responsive feel. Full dark, rich, shimmering, biting open/closed sound. Beautiful, fat, meaty, crisp, cutting chick sound. Fast, responsive, articulate with excellent feel and playability. An immensely versatile hi-hat that combines finesse and articulation with raw energy and cutting power.

Sound character: Silvery, breathy, transparent. Fairly wide range, slightly complex and dense mix. Soft shimmering and velvety feel. A light crash cymbal with a definite retro character suited for many styles in that music genre.
