Biography

Jose “Pepe” Andrade is an Ecuadorian drummer with a long career as a professional musician and sound engineer. He has performed with recognized Ecuadorian jazz, rock, and reggae bands. In 2004 he became a member of the reggae fusion band “Papa Chango” and recorded several albums and singles. Pepe was also part of the gypsy jazz band “Nuages”, combining both genres, he has toured in Ecuador, Colombia, United States, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, France, and Germany, where he played in different festivals and venues. He also has extensive experience as a sound engineer and session drummer. He is currently living in New York City, working as an independent drummer, touring with South American artists around the NYC area and he joins Papa Chango for international tours, video, and audio recordings.
