Biography
Paul has drummed for Owsley, Danielle Bradbery, Jana Kramer, Amy Grant, Jars of Clay, Whitney Duncan, Andrew Peterson, and many other Nashville-based artists. He spends most of his time recording in Nashville. “I love what I get with Paiste cymbals. I love the excellent quality that comes from this company with over one-hundred years of history, I love the consistency of their products, and I really love the variety of cymbals Paiste has to offer. In every drumming situation, their many options have met my need. Whether I’ve needed some heavier hi-hats to cut through on an arena stage, some extremely thin crashes that won’t overpower a highly-compressed room mic at a session, or anything creative in between, Paiste has always come through for me. Sound character: A fusion of darkness, energy, projection and brilliance. Very wide range, complex, musical mix. Responsive feel, extremely controllable. Woody, silvery, spanky ping over crunchy, thriving wash. Extremely versatile, flexible ride for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Mark I: Tends to be a bit quieter, darker and drier. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound.
