Omar has been playing drums for more than 26 years having started at his father’s church at the age of 8. He’s been involved in music programs from middle school all the way to university. Omar was self-taught until his attendance at NMSU and was involved in the top music ensembles from the Pride marching band to the Las Cruces Symphony with the best percussion and music professors in the El Paso/Las Cruces/Cd. Juarez area. He’s shared the stage with people like Kid Rock, Toby Keith, and Dan + Shay just to name a few. For the last 6 years he’s been performing with Frank Ray who has been featured on Rolling Stone, The LA Times, and the Today Show and is currently on Old Dominion’s 2023 No Bad Vibes Tour as a direct support on all of their US and Canada dates. Omar is also part of the Whiskey Jam “house” band performing with Kassi Ashton, Greylan James, Steven Lee Olson, and Shawn Austin. Having recently relocated to Nashville, TN Omar has been frequenting local jam sessions around town in search of other like minded musicians who like him are looking to make their mark in the ever growing music industry.

Sound character: Warm, deep, brilliant, lush. Medium wide range, complex mix. Responsive, giving feel. Warm luscious crashes with swift fade. Airy, defined ping over wide multi-layered wash. Broad, musical, integrated bells. Multifunctional design to work well as both crashes and rides in medium low to loud settings.
Sound character: Fairly bright, rich, open, warm. Wide range, fairly clean mix. Even, controllable feel with quick response. Crisp, clear stick sound over a rich, warm wash. All-purpose ride cymbal suitable for a broad range of musical styles. Developed in co-operation with session great Ndugu Chancler.
Sound character: Earthy, warm, dry, washy. Fairly narrow range, complex mix. Soft, giving and responsive feel. Depending on how aggressively you tighten the pair, they offer a range from dry, trashy hi-hat sounds to shattering, noisy-washy crash effects.
