Biography
Olivia is a drummer based in Wellington, New Zealand. She began playing the drums when she was 10 years old and was heavily involved with jazz bands, rock bands, orchestras and chamber music groups all throughout her adolescence. Her love for the drums led her to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance Drums at The New Zealand School of Music-Te Kōkī which she completed in 2014 with first class honours. After leaving university Olivia joined the alternative pop band Yumi Zouma for their 'Willowbank' world tour in 2017. Quickly becoming part of the family she went on to record drums for their 2020 album 'Truth or Consequences' and their 2022 release 'Present Tense' via Polyvinyl Records. When she's not touring with Yumi Zouma, Olivia can be seen playing locally and around New Zealand with groups such as the soulful jazz/funk brass band Richter City Rebels, nu-wave, nu-jazz group Revulva, indie-folk outfit Mystery Waitress, loose knit four-piece Zero Cool and indie-rock band Doons.
