Biography
He is a diverse percussionist who has studied many styles of music, as the saying goes: “From Bach to Rock” with vast experience, ranging from playing music all over the world at huge venues, to small intimate clubs in a career that spans over 40 years. Mike has performed at Disney Hall with the Southeast Symphony, an 86 piece orchestra, playing the music of George Gershwin. As well as The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion several times in the opera, La Boheme under the baton of the great Placido Domingo, L.A. Philharmonics’ own Gustavo Dudamel and has played many Musicals as well. Mike has appeared in or recorded on the soundtracks of various films including “Remember The Titans,” “Disney’s Fantasia 2000,” “Inspector Gadget,” “What’s Love Got To Do With It?”, ” The Bodyguard,” “Hocus Pocus,” “Angie,” and “For The Boys.” He has recorded on numerous CD’s and performed on many TV shows. In addition to performing, He teaches music theory and drum/percussion lessons to kids, teens and adults. Mike says, “Passing on what I know to them is fulfilling and a way to give back”.
