Biography

I started playing drums at the age of four & delighted my parents with all manner of loud bangs & crashes throughout the day. Eventually I started getting pretty good, so they got me a few drum lessons. I kept practicing as I went through school & eventually decided that drumming was to be my career. I moved to London & studied for a degree in Popular Music Performance. Whilst studying I completed a few studio sessions for various artists including Scott Matthews, who subsequently won the Ivor Novello award for songwriting. A few years later I decided I wanted to join a band & be part of something bigger, so auditioned for every band I could find. The Joy Formidable were one of those bands. I loved their music & knew we were all highly motivated to succeed in the music industry. It was a big risk, because they were a very new band at the time. We’ve been a band for over eleven years now & recently released a ten year anniversary record. How time flies!
