Biography
Matt Laug has become one of Los Angeles' most in demand studio session drummers having performed on records that have sold over 35 million copies with artists: Alanis Morissette (Jagged Little Pill), New Radicals (Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too), Alice Cooper (Fistful Of Alice), Lifehouse (No Name Face), Christina Aguilera (What A Girl Wants), Vasco Rossi (Il Mondo Che Vorrei), Tate Stevens (2012 X Factor Winner), Mikalah Gordon (American Idol) , Melissa Etheridge (Lucky), The Calling (Camino Palmero), Richard Marx (My Own Best Enemy), The Corrs (Talk On Corners), Eros Ramazzotti (Calma Apparamente) and more. A short list of Matt's movie and documentary score credits include : South Park - Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, Get Him To The Greek, Ghostbusters (2016), Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Yes Man, and Food Inc. Currently Matt is the drummer of The Dirty Knobs. The band consists of long time friends Lance Morrison (bass), Jason Sinay (guitar/vocals), and songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers). Their debut album titled "Wreckless Abandon" was released on November 20th, 2020. In addition to drumming for The Dirty Knobs, Matt has been touring and recording with Italian rock star Vasco Rossi since 2007. In 2017 Matt performed live with Vasco Rossi to celebrate Vasco's 40 year career in the music business. Held at Enzo Ferrari Park in Modena, Italy the event broke the world record for the most successful ticketed concert with a total of 225,173 tickets sold.
