Biography
A Costa Rican musician and drummer, Massimo Hernandez started out in the world of music, self-taught, at the age of 11. Drummers and musicians such as Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart, John Bonham, and Sting inspired Massimo to pick up a pair of drumsticks and start off on his now 25-year musical career. Born on September 18, 1974, Massimo's passion and love of music and performing has taken him and his band to a number of American, European, and Asian countries. His band, Gandhi has become a musical icon in Costa Rica and Central America. In addition to drums and percussion, Massimo plays the guitar and bass guitar. A multi-instrumentalist from an early age, he has composed music for both Gandhi and commercial projects. With Gandhi he has released more than 10 albums and has received numerous recognition from the Costa Rican Association of Composers and Music Writers. Massimo is also an events producer and content developer for commercial brands (such as Coca Cola, Cerveceria Costa Rica and Hard Rock Cafe). His agency, H20 Comunicacion y Contenido, has been generating content, advertising, and creating special events for more than 20 years. At present he combines his musical career with creating and conceptualizing content for different brands, as well as producing music and staging concerts and various performances.
