Biography
Marius is a serious, working drummer/musician from Molde, Norway. He started drumming at the age of nine years old for local groups, before progressing through music education in upper secondary school and further in the Norwegian Kings Army Band, as a youth. Marius then pursued further music education/development at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). He moved to Los Angeles in 2006 with british artist Pop Levi for extensive touring/recording. Performances all over the US, Europe and Australia follows, noteably Coachella (california), V-festival (UK) and Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), to name a few. After his American adventure, Marius returned to Norway (Oslo) and starts recording/touring with Norwegian pop group Montée and receives a Norwegian Grammy in 2010 with the same act. Since 2014 he has played drums/worked for norwegian pop artist Julie Bergan which has led to countless performances/tours all over Europe and Asia, notably a support tour of artist Alan Walker and support shows for both Justin Bieber and Dua Lipa. Marius is currently keeping busy as a session/live musician for numerous projects/artists besides teaching drums and live electronics at Edvard Munch Upper Secondary Music School. Marius has carved out a professional career in music and drums, lasting over 15 years going, and is known for delivering serious musicianship, paying close attention to details/arrangements, and to always serve the hiring artist and their music.
