Biography
Mario Garcia Cruz was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He studied music at the Veracruzana University in Xalapa and the Morelia University in Mexico, having as teachers Mark Levine, Oscar Stagnaro,Antonio Sánchez, Dave Weckl, Yoron Israel, Clarence Penn, Vince Cherico, Rufus Reid, John Riley, others. Throughout his career, he has accompanied and shared stages in Mexico, Japan, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Qatar, Bulgaria, Spain, France, the United States and Latin America with different musicians and singers such as: Justo Almario, Eugenio Toussaint, Héctor Infanzón, Adam Rapa, Arturo Sandoval, Ed Calle, Wayne Vergueron, Kiyoshi Kitagawa, Symphony Orchestra of Bellas Artes, Big Band Jazz of Mexico, Armando Manzanero, José Feliciano, Tania Libertad, Eugenia León, Francisco Céspedes , José Luis Rodríguez “El Puma”, Lucero,Rocío Dúrcal, Lila Dawns, Ola Onabulé, Fernando de la Mora, Andrea Bocelli and Raúl Di Blasio with whom he has shared stage on his world tours. He has also participated as a drummer in plays such as "Beauty and the Beast","Chicago", "Les Miserables", "Man of La Mancha" and "Saturday Fever". Participation as a solo musician in the 59th “Ariel” awards ceremony for Mexican cinema in Fine Arts. Emmy Award winner with the series “Esta noche jazz”. Winner of Las Lunas del Auditorio Nacional with Big Band Jazz de México. Recognized by the International Press Association of Las Vegas Nevada as Hispanic Pride along with Big Band Jazz de México.
