Biography

Growing up in Oklahoma, I began playing music in bars and honky-tonks at a very young age. I played many styles of music in area bands. As I matured as a musician I started dreaming of doing it as my livelihood. In 1995 I decided to change my geographic location and pursue my music career. Without much hesitation, I loaded up the truck and moved to Music City, Nashville, Tennessee. Immediately I began looking for work and scheduling auditions. In 1997, after two years of working and living in Nashville, I had an offer to move to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The gig was a perfect fit for me. I became the drummer for Country Tonite – a Vegas style country review show, performing 450 to 500 shows a year. The theater hosts concerts with some of the biggest names in the country music entertainment industry. George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Ronnie Milsap, Mel Tillis, Ray Stevens, Joe Diffie, Sammy Kershaw, Don Williams, and Merle Hagard. The theater also played host to the Mayberry Reunions which included Don Knotts, George Lindsay, Howard Morris and Betty Lynn. During my tenure At Country Tonite, I had the privilege of working with Las Vegas producer Karen Nelson-Bell. She had previously been music director for the Country Tonite show in Vegas and also worked with other Vegas stars including Paul Anka. Country singer and songwriter Craig Morgan was a featured singer in those early years. In my final years as drummer there, I was under the direction of Matt Davenport. Matt was co-founder of country super group Diamond Rio. I maintain a relationship with many area studios. For several years now I have worked in conjunction with Chartbuster Karaoke, a division of Big Mama Recording studios. I have literally hundreds of recorded songs to my credit. It is a passion of mine to perform and record drums. Jan 2010. I heard Country Superstar Travis Tritt was looking for a drummer and was holding auditions. I have always loved Travis’s singing and music, so I took advantage of all my chart reading and writing abilities. I charted out the songs and played the audition. It is an awesome privilege to be the drummer for such a talented person as Travis Tritt. The Tritt gig has allowed me to work with some of my music heroes such as The Charlie Daniels Band, The Outlaws, Hank Williams Jr, Marshall Tucker Band, Marty Stewart, and The Oak Ridge Boys. I have also shared the stage with some of today’s rising stars like Montgomery Gentry, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Gary Allen, Jamie Johnson, and Colt Ford.
