Biography

Lee started his musical career at age seven when he was given his first drum kit. Self-taught up to the age of 13, he had his first formal lesson and continued on under Merrick McCallum Drum School until the age of 18. Lee moved to Sydney from regional country NSW and began forging a musical career playing in various bands around Sydney venues. He was recommended to Rob Hirst (Midnight Oil) for the drum gig for his side project “Ghostwriters”. After a brief audition he commenced recording and playing extensively in the band. Fast forward to now, Lee has been enjoying his longest running professional gig with Diesel (aka Mark Lizotte) for over 20 years now which has culminated numerous records, countless national television appearances, live videos and thousands of live shows. In and throughout this time, Lee has also recorded and performed live with some of Australia’s most well-known artists including Jimmy Barnes, Richard Clapton, Daryl Braithwaite, The Whitlams, Rick Price, Alex Lloyd, Shane Nicholson and Philip Jamieson.
