Biography
I started playing the drums at age 16. From the beginning I focussed on musical diversity. Through the years I played in Jazz-, Swing- and wedding-music groups, Crossover Metal-, Top 40-, Folk Singer/Songwriter-, A-Capella-Pop- and College-Rock bands. I worked with gospel- and pop choirs and had the honour of drumming in the backing-band of the American female R'n'R legend Wanda Jackson. Furthermore I was a member of a street-theatre group and a drum-comedy duo. From 1986 until 1990 I joined “Die Mimmi´s” (Fun Punk). 1990 I was a founding member of “The Wetherbys” (American Rock). Out of the ruins of this band 1995 emerged “Velvetone” (Roots-Rock / Rockabilly). I played with this group until 2005. In 2002 I re-established the meanwhile split-up “Die Mimmi´s”. My second stint with the band lasted until 2007. With all bands I released records and CDs and toured in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland. Also: "Minne und die Minnies" (2005-2010), Rock and Roll for and with kids; “Black Slacks” (2011-2016), Rock 'n' Roll / Rockabilly. In 2014 I started my own project “Knipp Gumbo”, playing either solo or performing with my band. Since 2016 I play with “Bella Mare und die Beachbuben”, a Bremen/Germany based “walk-act-quartet”.

Immediate, sensitive response, strong attack, controllable spread, even, layered fade. This crash combines silky, soft qualities with energy and projection for an incredibly versatile application range. Also extremely well suited as suspended cymbals and for mallet rolls.
