Kevin Dow is a more than 37 year drum and percussion veteran in varying styles from theater to classical, jazz, rock, R&B, and music that defies conventional classification. Kevin has performed across the US and abroad and has shared the stage with such artists as Pete Townshend of The Who, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen and many more. He was the original drummer for the entire run of Jersey Boys on Broadway and performed on the cast album which earned a Grammy in 2006 and was certified Platinum. Since moving to San Diego, Kevin recently played in Clint Black’s musical Looking for Christmas at the Old Globe Theater and was reunited with Jersey Boys Director, Des McAnuff, and Pete Townshend for the original cast reunion of The Who’s Tommy at La Jolla Playhouse. Sound character: A fusion of darkness, energy, projection and brilliance. Very wide range, complex, musical mix. Responsive feel, extremely controllable. Woody, silvery, spanky ping over crunchy, thriving wash. Extremely versatile, flexible ride for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Mark II: Tends to be a bit livelier and brighter. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound. Mark II also has a bit more volume potential due to its more open character.

Sound character: Dark body, full frequency spectrum, brilliant highs. Very wide range, complex, pleasing musical mix. Immediate, sensitive response, strong attack, controllable spread, even, layered fade. This crash combines silky, soft qualities with energy and projection for an incredibly versatile application range. Also extremely well suited as suspended cymbals and for mallet rolls.
