Biography
Being born as the only child in a traditional dancing / drumming family background in Sri Lanka was not that easy, as even the name ‘Jimith’ stands for a traditional rhythmic phrase here in our country. If anyone asks me to explain myself in brief, my ideal answer would be a self learner, where it was all about listening to music and putting it into work. And I love to do experiments infusing the Sri Lankan drums where I post a lot of content on my social media platforms. I used to listen to a lot of funk and Latin music and fell in love with Afro Cuban rhythms as well. I started listening to all types of music and was blown away after watching some of the drummers, who became my idols namely Eric Moore, where I even got the chance to share the same stage with. Presently I work with the top notch musicians in Sri Lanka and create music, while tutoring and educating a lot of students around my country.
