Biography
When it comes to professional drummers in the UK, there are a only a tiny handful genuinely capable of excelling in such a wide diversity of styles as Jeff Lardner. This is evinced by the roll-call of stars queueing to engage his talents. Pop legends such as Van Morrison, Kylie Minogue, Joss Stone and Mark Knopfler. Jazz and Soul stars Georgie Fame, Natalie Cole, Helen Shapiro and the Three Degrees. Orchestral performances with the Bournemouth Symphony, the London Concert and the BBC Big Band in venues from Birmingham Symphony Hall to the London Palladium. After touring with Jeff, national treasure Alexander Armstrong described him as ‘A miracle of taste, sensitivity and with matchless time’ nicknaming him ‘the constant Lardner’. Few amongst the musical community would argue. Jeff’s ability to effortlessly hold down West End residencies with such differing demands as huge hits Guys & Dolls and Dancing in the Street has led to his presence being required in scores of the most coveted positions in the industry, from notably performing on the BBC smash Strictly Come Dancing to appearances on the greatest ever British chat show Parkinson and recording movie soundtracks such as the cult arthouse hit Le Weekend. He is now a regular fixture on dozens of live TV shows in the UK. Having run his own studio, GoGo Tracks, for some years, providing sessions for EMI and Soho Music Production amongst others, Jeff was recently invited to join the composing team at Audio Network, the world’s largest Production Music Company.
