Behaviours

„I still remember the first time I ever played Paiste cymbals: I was amazed that cymbals could be so lush, detailed, musical, and pleasing to the ear. And I still feel that way today – no other cymbals come close to that experience.“

Biography

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Jason Cheek earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from the University of Georgia in 2006, having studied drumset and percussion under Dr. Thomas McCutchen, Dr. Arvin Scott, and jazz under Steve Dancz. Relocating to Nashville in 2007, Jason established himself as an in-demand player in the city's varied musical landscape. After spending years touring internationally with artists as diverse as Grand Ole Opry member Terri Clark, Sarah Darling, Ryan Kinder, Peter Bradley Adams, and Matthew Perryman Jones, in 2016 he turned his focus predominantly to recording and producing in Nashville’s studio scene. In addition to continued session work, his primary focus is now serving as the drummer and bandleader for Immanuel Worship, the musical collective responsible for live and recorded musical worship at Immanuel Church Nashville.
