Jason Benge

Jason, often described as “one of the most versatile and musical drummers in music today,” was born on January 18th in Hamilton, Ohio. At age 12 he learned how to read music and play drums and percussion instruments in grade school. At age 14 he got his first drum set and taught himself how to play it. At 15 he was already playing with various Christian and jazz bands. By early 2000, he was a fixture of the Cincinnati music scene, professionally playing and recording with a multitude of diverse artists, including legendary drummers and artists in Nashville. Always active in various realms of creative and avant-garde music, Jason most notably started a very successful Christian band. Jason has played with countless jazz, rock, funk, R&B, blues, gospel, fusion and world music artists. On the road he plays anywhere from 100 to 150 dates a year. Jason is also an accomplished vocalist who has sang on several nationally charting songs in the Christian music industry. He was previously signed with the Rick Hendrix Company in Nashville. Rick has done radio promotions of compilations for such artists as Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, George Straight, Mariah Carey and many more. Rick is quoted as saying, “Jason is one of the best drummers I have ever heard live and has the attitude to go with it”.
