Biography
Federico Nelson Fioravanti is a percussionist and drummer currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark. He expresses his musical and creative development always through two instruments, percussion and drums, cultivating the study of both with the same passion and dedication. His creed lies in the constant interaction of the elements and in the search for the unconventional. Federico is performing with different ensembles and constellations as a percussion player and drummer such as: ONJ National Jazz Orchestra – an orchestra formed by the best musicians and performers of Italian conservatories. ONJ has collaborated with a diversity of artists, from internationally recognized soloists such as Billy Cobham, Alex Sipiagin, John Surman, Paolo Fresu to symphonic orchestras; Mikkel Nordsø Band - since 1985 the orchestra has had an iconic status among Scandinavian bands. The Nordsø Band has seen alternating percussionists such as Raul Rekow and Eliel Lazo over the years; MK House Band - the House Band of the Melvin Kakooza Show, live on Friday evening on national danish TV; AISMA – an innovative, narrative driven ensemble that records and performs an original story/fairytale written by Edgars Cirulis and Janis Locmelis; MotVm – modern jazz trio led by Danish bassist Albert Reinholdt Østergaard; Piano & Bongos Duo – a unique pairing of instruments meets music that contains elements of classical music, Jazz and improvisation. He has performed with artists such as: Billy Cobham, Alex Sipiagin, John Surman, Niels Lan Doky, Fabrizio Bosso, Mario Biondi, Mikkel Nordsø, Abruzzo Symphony Orchestra, Maurizio Giammarco, Thomas Clausen, Carlos Malta, Eliel Lazo, Uffe Steen, Paolo Russo, Edgars Cirulis, Albert Reinholdt Østergaard, Arta Jēkabsone, Kenneth Dahl Knudsen, Gabriele Pesaresi, Amin Zarrinchang, Antonino De Luca, Fabrizio Mandolini and others, as well as being active with Pachamama International Orchestra and DJM Big Band. Currently he’s working and directing all its energies towards the realization of a unique Concerto for Piano & Bongos.

Features an exotic feeling, very dominant center tone with soft, swirling over- and undertones. Available individually, as pairs with straps, or strung up pairs. Could also be used as very unusual mini hats or mounted upside down over a ride bell.
