Biography

Ethan Kinnunen was born in Canberra, Australia and started playing the drums at the age of 4 years old. By age 13, he was regularly playing at his local church. After moving to Sydney in 2013, Ethan was part of Hillsong Church in Australia where he has served on the worship team for 10 years, playing weekly with world-renowned worship leaders and songwriters such as GRAMMY award winners Ben Fielding and Brooke Ligertwood, and others including Reuben Morgan, Taya Gaukrodger, Benjamin Hastings, Aodhan King, Alexander Pappas, Hannah Hobbs and many more. He has also been an in demand session and touring drummer, playing conferences and events and recording for local producers and upcoming talent. Upon moving to the U.S. in 2023, Ethan will continue playing in the worship context through his local church and is looking forward to all the future holds.

Controllable, peppery stick sound over a dark layered oriental, smoky wash. A ride cymbal that can easily be used in a small jazz club setting and flourish in other styles such as blues or country music.
