Biography

Elí was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Even though he took several private classes with Hector Matos, (one of Puerto Rico’s most accomplished drummers and had a short stint at the Conservatory of Puerto Rico) Eli is pretty much a self-taught drummer who started playing at local churches since the age of 12. He had his beginnings in the musical scene with metal bands After Omega and Pacto de Sangre. Then he had the opportunity to share stage with contemporary Christian Music artists such as Onda Sagrada, Samuel Hernandez, Michael Rodriguez and internationally renowned pianist Adlan Cruz. He changed to the pop scene and excelled behind the drums with Marshmallow Supernova, Karmapop, Juan Luna, Robert Avellanet ex Menudo, and Sí Señor. He was also the musical director & drummer for Jae Cruz’s (Univision's La Banda Finalist) tour around several mayor theaters in Puerto Rico. Moving to the Urban/Latin Scene, Eli started working with Music Phenom Ozuna in 2016 debuting at the prestigious Luna Park in Argentina. In over one hundred dates in 2017’s Odisea Worldwide Tour, he got to play in venues such as Chile’s Movistar Arena, Miami’s AA Arena, The Forum at LA, Wembley at London among others. Now in 2018, he’s currently working in the second part of Odisea Worldwide Tour and getting ready for Aura Worldwide Tour with already more than 100 dates in agenda.
