Biography
David Northrup's skill and talent as a busy touring musician is matched only by his long list of recording credits and work that he has done with a multitude of artists over varying genres. His long and versatile list of playing credits includes work with Rick Derringer, Boz Scaggs, John Waite, John Mellencamp, Les Dudek, The Disco Biscuits, Wynonna, Travis Tritt, The Oak Ridge Boys, T Graham Brown, Joe Diffie, Tanya Tucker, Jo-El Sonnier, Pam Tillis and Lee Greenwood. He was Voted number Two Country Drummer and number Two Clinician of the year in the prestigious Modern Drummer Readers Poll (2009 and 2010). Northrup’s debut solo CD, “Shapes” released in the fall of 2019 includes an elite cast of musicians such as Shane Theriot and Mike Miller on Guitar. Adam Nitti and the legendary George Porter Jr on bass. Pat Coil and New Orleans jazz great David Torkonowsky on keyboards.
