Biography

Originally from Mid Michigan, David eventually fled the Midwest in the late 80s for the West Coast, driven by a burning desire to bang on the drums for a living. Upon graduating from Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, David immediately began playing the LA club scene, taking just about any gig he could get his hands on. Eventually he landed a gig with the Latin Rock band Tribe of Gypsies, which would ultimately lead to a gig with Iron Maiden frontman and Metal legend, Bruce Dickinson, who hired the Tribe as his band for his second solo record. A few years later, Bruce recruited the Tribe yet again, with Adrian Smith of Maiden now on board, for two more records —“Accident of Birth” and “The Chemical Wedding”— both of which have become cult classics in the Metal world. After two world tours and a final live album, Bruce and Adrian Smith parted ways with David and the Tribe to rejoin Maiden. This led to the next chapter in David’s career as the drummer for the Irish-Rock band Young Dubliners, who David has spent the last 20 years with, recording and touring relentlessly. Playing hundreds of shows a year around the country and the world, the Dubs have shared the stage with numerous names such as Jethro Tull, Chris Isaak, John Hyatt, Collective Soul and Johny Lange, just to name a few.
