Biography
Dan Martier is a drummer, percussionist, vocalist, composer and teacher based out of coastal Carolina who is sought after for his adept handling of a wide range of musical styles and instruments. For more than a decade Martier has toured extensively with Tim Reynolds and TR3 through the United States, Canada and Brazil. When he is not touring with TR3, Martier is one half of Martier Sound Meditation traveling the country with his wife Laura guiding audiences on their signature Sound Journey concerts and meditation offerings. As of 2020 Dan is also playing with Keller Williams. Martier's playing is intuitive, improvisational with a masterful sensitivity toward his collaborators. A virtuoso on the drum set. Always looking for the feel and not the fill. Martier also supports a number of local and regional acts including; Birddog, the Americana duo, with Laura Martier, jazz guitarist Joe Mapp, Karl Werne and Friends and has shared the stage with luminaries like Stanley Jordan, Jeff Coffin, Elvin Bishop, Christie Lenee, Rashawn Ross, Marcus Eaton, Felix Pastorius, Dexter Whitaker, Eddie Williams and many more.

Sound character: A fusion of darkness, energy, projection and brilliance. Very wide range, complex, musical mix. Responsive feel, extremely controllable. Woody, silvery, spanky ping over crunchy, thriving wash. Extremely versatile, flexible ride for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Mark I: Tends to be a bit quieter, darker and drier. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound.
