Biography

Chad Butler was born on a boat in Amsterdam, spent his early years in the UK, then discovered drumming and surfing as a teenager in San Diego, CA. In 1996, while attending University of California San Diego Butler co-founded SWITCHFOOT, an American alternative rock band. In 20 years together SWITCHFOOT has had multiple hit singles, millions of records sold, a GRAMMY Award, and raised over 2 million for at-risk youth programs in San Diego. Most recently Butler is recording a forthcoming SWITCHFOOT project
