Biography
Brian V. Tate is a versatile musician, known for his exceptional skills as a drummer/percussionist and vocalist. Based in Lubbock, Texas, Brian has been an integral part of the local music scene since 2000, collaborating with numerous artists and leaving an indelible mark on the West Texas music landscape. From 2008 to 2022, Brian served as a faculty member of the South Plains College Commercial Music Program, where he imparted his expertise in drum set performance and led various musical ensembles. His dedication to education has helped shape aspiring musicians for over a decade. Brian's passion for performance remains undiminished. He is a dynamic presence in multiple musical groups, showcasing his diverse talents across different genres. Whether laying down the rhythm for classic rock hits with GroundFloor and the Darren Welch Group, exploring jazz standards with the Keegan Peck Quartet, or infusing funk, pop, and New Orleans flair with UPLIFT!, Brian's artistry knows no bounds. Brian holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from Texas Tech University, a testament to his dedication to his craft and his commitment to musical excellence. Beyond his musical pursuits, Brian finds joy and fulfillment in his family life, residing in Lubbock with his wife, Faith, and their five sons.
