Biography

Bob Holz and A Vision Forward is a new jazz/fusion band consisting of drummer, composer Bob Holz, bassist Ralphe Armstrong and guitarist Chet Catallo. Bob has a new CD which was released February 10th,2017 on MVD Audio and is titled “Visions and Friends” which features Larry Coryell, Randy Brecker, Alex Machacek, Billy Steinway and Ralphe Armstrong. Bob Holz: Drummer, composer Bob Holz is a former member of the Larry Coryell Trio with whom he appeared at major venues such as Blues Alley in Washington, D.C. He began his career in Boston attending Berklee College of Music. He went on to study with Billy Cobham in New York City at the famous Drummers Collective. Bob has shared the stage with Larry Coryell, Robben Ford, Les McCann, David Fat Head Newman, Cornell Dupree, Maria Muldaur, Dr. John and George Clinton/ Parliament Funk. His new album entitled Visions and Friends features Larry Coryell, Randy Brecker, Ralphe Armstrong, Alex Machacek and Billy Steinway and was release on January 10, 2017 on MVD Records. Bob’s musical approach to drumming along with his compositions provide a perfect foundation for the musical explorations of fellow band members Catallo and Armstrong.
