Biography
Billy Ashbaugh has played professionally for nearly 40 years. He started playing drums at age 15 and began playing the local club scene by 18. After playing local clubs for several years he felt his playing was really growing stagnant, so like many drummers he decided to take lessons. This decision would change his playing forever. Years later he got his first big break landing the gig as touring drummer with Snap!. From there, Billy went on to tour with such artist as ‘NSYNC, Pat Benatar, The Moody Blues, John Lodge, Alan Hewitt & One Nation and Brian Littrell (BackStreet Boys). He has also recorded/performed with Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Gloria Estefan, Britney Spears, Richard Marx, Christopher Cross, Alex Boye’, Joey Fatone, Greg Howe, Samantha Mumba, Hedras Ramos and many more. Currently when he’s not on tour, Billy offers online lessons as well as remote live drum tracks from his home studio.

Woody, silvery, spanky ping over crunchy, thriving wash. Extremely versatile, flexible ride for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Mark II: Tends to be a bit livelier and brighter. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound. Mark II also has a bit more volume potential due to its more open character.
