Biography
Augustas Baronas started performing professionally at a young age while studying under Salvijus Žeimys in Vilnius, Lithuania. With The Magic Time -big band- Orchestra, he played at various festivals in Lithuania, Latvia, Germany and Sweden. In 2013, he won third place in the IX International Jazz Competition for Young Performers in Rostov-on-Don, Russia and won Grand prix-first prize at the Getxo international Jazz competition in 2019 where he played with the Claudio Jr. De Rosa Quartet. After completing his bachelor's studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (under Eric Ineke) and his master's studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory (under Martijn Vink and Marcel Serierse), Augustas made Vilnius, Lithuania his base, where he performs with well-known Lithuanian jazz musicians such as Dainius Pulauskas, Kęstutis Vaiginis, Dmitrij Golovanov, Leonardas Pilkauskas, Domas Aleksa and Dominikas Vyšniauskas. He often performs abroad with The Claudio Jr. De Rosa Quartet with whom he has performed in various festivals such as Getxo Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival and Umbria Jazz. In addition to his jazz career Augustas also performs with various alternative/pop groups and artists in Lithuania, such as Golden Parazyth, Kabloonak, Erica Jennings and many others.

Controllable, peppery stick sound over a dark layered oriental, smoky wash. A ride cymbal that can easily be used in a small jazz club setting and flourish in other styles such as blues or country music.
