Biography
Alberto García was born in Gran Canaria (ES) in 1990. In September 2017 he completed his Master of Arts in Music Education and Jazz Percussion in the Hochschule für Musik in Basel with Julio Barreto and Guillermo Klein with honors. Alberto García is very active in his concert activities and has participated in international projects in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, United Kingdom and other countries. He has played at festivals such as South Tyrol Jazz Festival, Bejazz, Openair St. Gallen, Rock OZ'Arénes, Zermatt Unplugged, Basel Off Beat Jazz Festival, Auvenier Jazz Festival, Jazz Onze Lausanne and many other places where he has performed with musicians such as Jorge Rossy, Chico Freeman, Adam Rapa, Guillermo Klein, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Jeff Ballard and Marc Turner. Alberto is in high demand internationally as a studio musician. He has recorded all over Switzerland, in Germany, Spain, London, as well as for a film production in Los Angeles (USA). He has recorded for many productions for international musicians such as Guillermo Klein, Rayko Leon, Gerson Galvan, Aydin Essen and many others. Currently he is part of the fixed line-up of formations like "Manu Hagmann's Choice", "Picason", "La Nefera", "Rayko León Band", "Chico Freeman Band", Son Alarde", "César Correa 4tet" and others. Besides being a musician, Alberto works as a teacher at the "Konservatorium Winterthur" and at the "Jazzcampus Basel". He leads, produces and composes for his own projects. On his latest album, Alberto is accompanied by drummer Jeff Ballard.
