Steven Plesnarski is a sought after drummer and educator based in the New York City area and is currently the drummer for Grammy award winning songwriter Danny Weinkauf (of They Might Be Giants) and his Kindie rock group, The Red Pants Band. Steven was raised in a home that his supportive parents filled with great music and gravitated to the drums as a young child. He was fortunate to have formally learned music and drumming with enthusiastic private teachers and the public school music educators in his hometown of Edison, NJ. After absorbing as much music as he could from his teachers and fellow student musicians, he attended the Berklee College of Music with scholarship for an incredible 4 years of learning, creating, debating, laughing, crying, sleepless nights, and life-affirming musical stimulation. He graduated Magna cum Laude in 2006 and then continued his education at Kean University, graduating in 2009. Steven’s work with The Red Pants Band and other artists has led to performances all over the United States. Some memorable highlights include the incredible Lollapalooza Festival, multiple Sirius Satellite Radio appearances, CBS Television, and the Wells Fargo Center (Philadelphia). As a freelance musician, Steven has recorded at various high-end NY area studios and has performed with Shayfer James, the powerhouse Philadelphia-based event band Back2Life, and Songwriter Tina Kenny. He is also a music educator in the NJ Public School system and teaches drums and percussion privately.
