Biography

Shane Williams has been playing the drums for over 30 years. It all started when he was five years old playing in the church band. His love for music and drumming kept growing and after playing in the school band from fifth grade through senior year, Shane found himself at the University of Kansas. He enrolled at KU as a music education student and was the center snare on the University of Kansas Drumline for 3 years. His dream was to become a band teacher, but life took a different turn when he decided to move to Nashville, TN in 2008. Leaving the band teacher dream behind for the time being, Shane was now on a new path to becoming one of Nashville's top country music drummers. He has played with various artists over the years and is currently with country Legend Neal McCoy. Shane has called Nashville home now for 12 years. Typical to most musicians who move to Nashville to "make it", success didn't happen overnight. It took Shane over 6 years to land a national touring gig. The dues he had to pay were worth it, however. For the last 6 years, he has been on the road playing drums for country music legend, Neal McCoy. Shane's musical influences aren't just specific to country. He loves all different genres of music and enjoys listening to most. Make sure you try and catch Shane on the road with Neal.
