„Live or in the studio, all of the different models work so well together I am easily able to craft the perfect cymbal sound for whatever genre, mood, dynamic or sonic landscape needed. I’m grateful to be a part of the Paiste family! “

Biography

Sean T. Lane, son of a songwriter and stained-glass glazier, embraced a DIY ethos early on, fashioning his first drum kit from household items in their small Atascadero, CA home. Driven by an insatiable internal rhythm, Lane honed his skills, teaching himself to play while saving for a used kit. His passion for drumming took him to Seattle, where he immersed himself in the music scene, working at first in drum shops and later as a tech in various studios. There, he crossed paths with mentor Gregg Keplinger, who shared a deep fascination for sound and tonality. As their friendship grew, Lane’s role as a tech eventually led to drum session work and touring, often featuring his unique creation, "The Bike" – a percussion instrument with bells, rods and wheels mounted on a bicycle frame that can be modulated with effects pedals. His sonic journey extended to collaborations and live performances with renowned artists like Heart, Ann Wilson & Tripsitter, Pedro The Lion, David Bazan, Perfume Genius, Yppah, Noah Gundersen, SYML and many more. With each recording and performance he delves into the void, emerging with art that transcends the boundaries of traditional musical roles.
