Biography

Rikhard Murto (b.1981) is a diverse drummer and producer from Helsinki, Finland (EU) whom wears many hats. In addition to working as a composer for TV and film, a record producer and remixer he is currently working with many of Finland’s top artists and biggest live productions. This has led him to become a sought after performer and live producer to play traditional drum set as well as his intricate electronic and hybrid drum/percussion setups on TV, radio and on tours around Finland and throughout Europe. Currently working as the drummer for Elastinen. He was the first artist in Finland to sell out Hartwall Areena twice in 2015 and has been busy ever since touring non-stop. Since 2013 been drumming for Cheek. In 2014 they made live concert history in Finland by selling out The Helsinki Olympic Stadium twice (over 80 000 people). Later released on DVD, Cheek - Live @ Olympiastadion 2014 CD+DVD+BLU-RAY / Warner Music. Later the Cheek - VALOT SAMMUU DVD 2019 DVD+BLU-RAY / Warner Music. Also the drummer for World's Funniest Comedian Ismo Leikola (Conan/Laugh Factory/USA) and has worked as drummer / musical director for talented Finnish Idol winner Diandra. He has become very involved with live production as a trusted live drummer, MD, programmer and playback system designer for many of the biggest Finnish live productions and top artists as Rähinä 20-Anniversary, Profeetat, Fintelligens, Erin, JVG, Kaija Koo, Jari Sillanpää, Elastinen, Haloo Helsinki, Isac Elliot and Cheek to name a few. Rikhard is active in the drumming community in Finland; he is active with social media scene on Twitter/Instagram and is produces high quality YouTube content to his own rikihifi-channel. The goal with this footage is to concentrate on improvisational jams with different lineups consisting of Finland's top musicians. The videos have been getting a very good response around the world in a short period of time.
