Biography

Raven is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she studied under renowned performer, composer, and producer, Rick Dior. She earned a B.A. in Music with a concentration in percussion and a B.A. in German translation. She started performing at age 12 with roots in rock, funk, and classical percussion. Raven is currently performing, co-writing, and traveling with several artists among different genres. She has performed and recorded with artists including Brooke Eden, Kylie Frey, Vienna Light Orchestra, Bri Fletcher, Raelyn Nelson, Karissa Ella, Colby Deitz, Natalia Taylor, Ben Kramer, Terez, Chancie Neal, Jax Hollow, Leilani Kilgore, Bella Raye, Molly Lovette, Lindsey Hinkle, Terce, Brooke Lee, Jamie Gabrielle, and Philip Hamrick. She has also traveled to France, Louisiana, Texas, western North Carolina, and Tennessee to perform with the UNCC Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Combo, and Percussion Ensemble. Raven was the head drum set instructor at Elevate Rock School in Lake Norman with nearly fifty students, a drum instructor at Franklin Brentwood Arts Academy, and the after school band program instructor for Valor Academy in Nashville. Raven is an artist for Doc Sweeney Drums located in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

    Sound character: Dark, warm, smoky, breathy. Fairly wide range, complex mix. Soft feel with a quick response. Very well crashable. Controllable, peppery stick sound over a dark layered oriental, smoky wash. A ride cymbal that can easily be used in a small jazz club setting and flourish in other styles such as blues or country music.
