Biography
Leah Shapiro was born in Aarhus, Denmark where she began playing drums while in high school. Shapiro attended music school in Nottingham, Boston, and New York. During this time, she played with various musical projects including Dead Combo and The Raveonettes, which led to the current position as the drummer for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Shapiro joined the band in the summer of 2008 for their UK & European headline dates as well as their dates supporting Stone Temple Pilots in the United States. Upon finishing the slew of dates in 2008, Shapiro joined the band in the studio to write on and record the BRMC’s fifth full length release “Beat The Devil’s Tattoo.”
